Larger images are scaled down proportionally.

JPEG is the most common photo format, but camera and phone pictures are often 3–10 MB each. Compressing them to quality 70–80 typically cuts the size by 60–80% with no visible loss.

Use the quality slider to find the right balance, and the optional max-width setting to resize huge photos for email, WhatsApp, websites or online forms.

How to use it

  1. Add images – drag & drop, click to browse, or paste from clipboard. Select one or many.
  2. Choose format & quality – pick JPG, PNG or WebP and set the quality slider (75 is a great default).
  3. Compress – click “Compress & Convert”. Processing happens instantly on your device.
  4. Download – save each image individually or all at once as a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best JPEG quality setting?

For most photos, 75–82 gives an excellent balance. Use 60–70 for web thumbnails and 85–92 when you need print-level detail.

Will compressing a JPEG reduce its resolution?

No, unless you set a max width. Compression only changes how the pixels are encoded, not the image dimensions.

How do I reduce a JPG to under 100 KB?

Lower the quality to around 60 and set a max width such as 1280 px. Check the result size and adjust if needed.

Is it safe to compress private photos here?

Yes. Files are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded.
